Bangalore: Buy plot, register anywhere

Soon, you can purchase a property in Gulbarga and get it registered in Bangalore or from wherever you are. The 'Integrated IGR (Inspector General of Registration) Solutions', initiated by the eGovernance department of the state government, will allow the public to register their property from any place. It also provides a host of other services, including issuing of the encumbrance certificate.
"All the 273 sub-registrars' offices will be connected under the project. Tenders have already been called. The project will be operational in 14 months," said M N Vidyashankar, Principal Secretary, eGovernance. "With the implementation of the project, 'any time, anywhere registration' will become reality and bring in more transparency in the administration and end corruption in sub-registrars' offices," he said.
In a bid to bring in more transparency in the administration, the department has initiated 29 projects, including Khajane-II, in which all the treasury offices and notified banks, RBI and the Auditor General's office will be connected. The finance department and other government departments too will be part of the network.
The state government has already handed over 11 acres of land to the institute near Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in Bangalore North. While the state government has extended a budgetary support of Rs. 2 crore, the Centre has granted Rs 4 crore as initial support, he said.
